What is an electrical machine?types of electrical machine.

We can daily used electric motors,generator and transformer for various purpose.but we don't knew about what is this and which principle used in this component?. This is most important component for electrical and electronics circuit.so lets go today we learn about electrical machines and its principle.


WHAT IS MACHINE ?

Electrical machine is device which converts electrical to mechanical energy ,mechanical to electrical energy and electrical to electrical energy.
Electrical machines has three types.Each types explain given below.

ELECTRICAL MACHINE MECHANISM 

(1) GENERATOR
(2) MOTOR
(3) TRANSFORMER

In electrical machine generator  and motor has rotating parts and stationary parts but only transformer does not have rotating part its only have statics parts.

All electrical machines plays vital role in power generation ,transmission and distribution.Motor is widely used in industrial application.Transformer is widely used in electronics device.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

The working principle of all electrical machines is 'electromagnetic induction.'

(1) GENERATOR

Generator is electrical machines which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy form.The working principle of generator is electromagnetic induction.

Generator has rotating parts is rotor and statics parts is stator.

All type of mechanical energy is provided to rotating shaft through turbine.like  that steam turbine,water turbine , wind turbine,gas turbine,wave turbine,etc all mechanical energy provided to rotor shaft and its converts mechanical energy to electrical energy.

Generator are classified in two types.
(1) AC Generator
(2) DC Generator

(2) MOTORS
MOTOR PARTS (1) ROTOR AND (2) STATOR


A motor is an electrical machine which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy.The working principle of motors is electromagnetic induction.

Generator and motor has two main parts (1) rotating part is rotor (2) static part is stator.

In electric motor power supply give both the stator winding and rotor winding.Due to force produced and rotor rotates.

Motor are classified in mainly two types.
(a) AC MOTOR
(b) DC MOTOR

(3) TRANSFORMER


TRANSFORMER


Transformer is a static device because its does not have rotational part.Transformer is electrical machines which converts electrical energy to electrical energy form.Its only transfer one circuit to another circuit,one voltage level to another voltage level,Increase or decrease in current and voltage without change in frequencies.
The working principle of transformer is electromagnetism.

There are various types of transformer are classified as per they application purpose.  
(1) step up transformer 
(2) step down transformer

There are also classified as per its structure.
(1) shell type transformer 
(2) core type transformer
(3) power transformer
(4) instrument transformer
